OFFICIAL CERTIFYING PRESENTER

THE JOY A RILEY ENTERPRISE

Holds the distinction of being an Official Certifying Presenter for the President's Volunteer Service Award. In this role, we actively engage in the identification and nomination process of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who dedicate their time and skills to tackle some of our nation's most formidable challenges. These esteemed recognitions encompass Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Lifetime Achievement distinctions.

THE PRESIDENT'S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD

We are currently inviting nominations and applications from individuals, businesses, and organizations who have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteering within their communities for our upcoming event.

The President's Volunteer Service Award serves as a symbol of recognition, honor, and celebration for citizens who have made a meaningful impact through their dedicated volunteer work. Established in 2003 by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, this award acknowledges the vital role of volunteers in shaping the strength and identity of the United States. It also pays tribute to those whose service inspires and uplifts others.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is bestowed upon United States citizens and lawful permanent residents who have fulfilled the requisite number of service hours within a 12-month period or cumulatively throughout their lifetime.

Receiving presidential recognition sets you apart within your community and is a remarkable privilege. Even if you are not actively seeking recognition, your actions can serve as a powerful source of inspiration, motivating others to engage in meaningful service.

Dr. Joy Riley, the founder of Creamed Colored Society, takes immense pride in contributing to the prestigious mission of encouraging and honoring individuals of all ages and backgrounds for their unwavering commitment to creating a better world.

In our role as a certifying organization, our dedicated team meticulously reviews and approves submissions for the President's Volunteer Service Award. Selected recipients will be notified and formally recognized during the Creamed Colored Society Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner Conference.


Volunteer Eligibility

  • United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)

  • Must be at least five years old.

  • Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards)

Eligible Service:

  • Unpaid acts of volunteer service benefitting others

  • Service through National service programs that provide a stipend (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) may count towards the Lifetime Achievement Award, but not for the annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards)

  • Travel stipends, transit/parking passes, membership passes, expense reimbursements, and other nominal volunteer support do not impact service eligibility.

Eligible Service Does Not Include:

  • Donating funds

  • Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)

  • Religious instruction

  • Conducting worship service

  • Proselytizing

  • Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service

  • Serving only family members

Bronze Service Award

Kids (age 5-10)  26 to 49 hours 
Teens (age 11-15) 50 to 74 hours
Young Adults (age 16-25) 100 to 174 hours
Adults (age 26+)  100 to 249 hours
